Police Gear

When I was growing up it was so much fun to see my dad get ready for work. He was, and still is a police officer. I liked seeing all of his fun police gear. The hat was probably my favorite part. It was the neatest thing to have a dad who was a police officer!! He also had tactical gear that he would wear certain times when he had something to go and do for work. I also liked that too. Are you someone looking for police gear of some sort? If so, you should check out lapolicegear.com. They have a large selection to choose from at very reasonable prices. Check them out today and see what you think.

Leaking Doors

Last night before we went to bed, Scott and I heard water dripping somewhere. We looked around and saw that our french doors were leaking a little bit. It was raining too hard for Scott to get up on the roof, but he got up there this morning and didn't really see anything. It doesn't seem as though the roof is weak or leaking in anyway. He's going to look more when he gets home from work today. We're hoping it's something simple and nothing that will require any big repairs.

Win an iPod nano!

Development Dimensions International is giving you the opportunity to win an iPod nano!! All you have to do is fill out a short survey! That's right, it's that easy. They want to increase the rate of responses to this survey by getting HR executives in hospitals and health care delivery systems to respond! So, all you have to do is fill out the survey, and at the end of it you will give them your e-mail and contact information. The winner will be randomly selected and it could be you!! If you would like to learn more, head over to their site today and check it out! To take the survey, click here.

Landscaping

Scott and I are doing some things around the house, both inside and out this summer. We are starting out by doing some much needed work on t he landscaping in the front yard and side of the house. We have a good start, but will be doing even more this weekend. I'm looking forward to it! My mom is going to help me out tomorrow with it some...so I'm really excited! I can't wait to see the transformation!! It seems that the small things always end up making such a big difference.

Vaccinations: Do they cause Autism?

As a first time mom I have heard many sides to the vaccination debate! I'm sure there are many other moms out there dealing with the same conversations. I have my own opinions on the matter...but putting that aside I definitely recommend all mothers to become informed on both sides of the issue to help them make a decision! Recently I came across information on Paul Offit, MD who is a pediatrician that specializes in infectious disease medicine. He takes the side that believes vaccinations are not what is causing autism and that they help to save thousands of lives! What do you think? You can learn more about his views and arguments on the matter by reading Vaccinated. This is a book about hundreds of years worth of medical history. If this is something that would interest you, check it out on Amazon today!

So many changes!

Our little girl is changing so much!! It's weird how quickly they grow. This weekend she will turn 7 months old...and in those past 7 months she has changed more than I ever expected her to. She is not that sleepy little baby who depends 100% on us...she is becoming more and more independent and can entertain herself. Yes, she still depends on us to take care of her, but she is able to get around by crawling now, and can even let us know what she wants through her body language. I love all the stages she's going through, and can't wait to see the stages to come!

Planning a Vacation

I enjoy traveling a lot. Scott and I have been talking a lot lately about planning a vacation somewhere this summer, and I am really excited. I'm not sure where we're going to go for sure, but it will be somewhere warm and relaxing. I've been searching the web looking for good travel guides of some sort to help me decide where we might go. We'll have to see what will work out with our schedule and budget. So far I'm enjoying looking around at all of our options though.

Lilaguide.com

Buying your baby their baby products, or trying to find a pediatrician or some other service can be a time consuming and often stressful thing. You want to make sure that you have the very best for them. To do this, Lilaguide.com is here to help. They are a part of The Knot, Inc. which is a leading life media and services company. Lilaguide.com is a place where people can find real parent reviews of local baby shops, gear, and services. They have over 32,000 listings and over 120,000 reviews from parents who are sharing their advice on these things. I thought it was great that there was a place like this where parents could go to get real answers. If you'd like to check it out, head over to their site today.

Great Hubby

My hubby is the absolute best!! I appreciate all he does so much. He goes to work and works hard every day, and then comes home and works around the house too. It's nice to have someone who is willing to help, even after a long day. He realizes how busy I am during the day with Kaelyn, and wants to help in any way he can. I thank the Lord every day for such a wonderful man...he is the BEST!! He's not only a hard worker, but such a sweet guy....I am one very lucky girl!

Remodeling

Scott's busy season is coming to a close. That's great news! Kaelyn and I had missed him not being around as much, and look forward to more time spent with him. It's also an exciting time, because we're going to start some remodeling in our basement. Things like walls, carpet and maybe even some work in the bathroom down there are top on our list. It will be fun to get it started soon and to see it come together. I think it will be a much more enjoyable space for us to spend time as a family.

Computer Security Software

Protecting your computer from viruses is important to do. I'm sure many people have spent lots of time looking for the right software. The great news is that you don't have to look any further. Software Security Solutions is a great resource for you to find computer security software that has a layered security solution for different internet and computer software. You will be able to find security software including anti virus, anti spyware, exploits, and firewalls all in one place! Isn't that great??! The perfect thing is that you not only save time in looking for software because it's all in one place, but also you will save money. Who doesn't want to save money, right?! If you'd like to learn more, check out their site where they offer even more information about NOD32.

Updates to the Home

It's amazing the little things you can do around the house to really change the look and feel. Recently we have replaced a few light fixtures and painted some around the house. Just these two simple things have already updated our home and given it a new and fresh feel. My parents have been doing some of the same things, and they're house is looking great as well. It's fun to do some inexpensive things to modernize your home once in a while. I've really enjoyed it!

Baby Milestones

Kaelyn continues to amaze us each and every day. She has changed and learned so many new things over the past 6 months. Recently each day it seems like she is doing something new. First it was getting up on all fours and rocking....then it was army crawling all around the house...and now it's babbling up a storm! She's saying things like baba, dada, etc. It's SO cute! It's fun now that she's even more interactive....and I'm sure it will get even more fun as time goes on. I enjoy every stage she's gone through, and look forward to all of the stages to come.

Hotels.com

Making travel plans is not always very easy or fun. Finding the right hotel room or right price is a big concern for a lot of people. That is, until hotels.com came along and made it easy for you to search for the right plans for booking your motel. You can book your hotels online or even over the phone with their dedicated customer service representatives. They even have a Spanish site making it easy for Spanish Speaking travelers to easily book their travel plans as well. If you'd like to learn more, you can check out their site, espanol.hotels.com to learn more about this option. See what you think about their ofertas de hoteles by visiting when you get the chance...you won't be sorry you did.

Golfing Season

Golf, Golf and more Golf...this is the word and the topic of conversation that I've been hearing around my house nonstop. Why you ask? Well, Scott is a golf nut...he just loves it! I'm glad that he enjoys a fun sport like this. It's something he can do throughout the summer. He and my dad both love the sport...so they try to find time to get a game in here and there once the weather gets nicer. That's why I've been hearing so much about it lately...they're going golfing tomorrow. I'm happy for them. It's been a long while since they got to...so it will be fun. Not only that, but my little brother and his girlfriend get to go too....should be a fun day for them!

Nice Weather

Watching the weatherman give the forecast yesterday had me a little down. It sounded like it was going to rain a lot, which would not be fun for this holiday weekend. It goes to show that you can't count on every word that he says....because I woke up this morning and the weather is BEAUTIFUL!! I couldn't ask for a nicer day to start off the weekend. I hope it stays this way, as it's going to make it a much more pleasant weekend for many.

You could check out their site where you can find a wealth of information on the questions you may have about their services. Check it out today and see what you think about an Austin Personal Injury.

Social Networking

I'm sure by now most people have heard of the Social Networking site Facebook. I just have to say that at first when I joined a few years ago...I was a little leery. I mean, I just didn't know how great it would be or if it would be as good as everyone was making it out to be. Turns out it really is pretty neat. I like the fact that it allows people like me, who are out of college and working, to keep caught up on everything that is going on. I can't think of a better way to keep in touch with old friends and classmates. I really enjoy it and am thankful for a site like this.

Need to Relax

Do you ever feel like the work is never done around the house? I know I do!! It seems that I'm always doing something. Whether it's cleaning, laundry, bills, etc.....I'm always busy. Yeah, I could sit down and relax, but then I would not get the things done that I need to. Obviously having Kaelyn, I try to find time to sit and play with her too....but chores around the house and work online takes up a large part of my day as well. I need to make sure and take some much needed time just to relax this weekend.

Allegro Medical

Allegro Medical is a company founded in 1996 and serves over 1 million customers. You won't be sorry you did.

American Idol Finale

I don't think I had the chance to write about my reaction to the American Idol Finale, so I thought I'd take a moment to do that right now. Was anyone else a little surprised?? I was a little. I mean don't get me wrong....David Cook is a GREAT singer too...I just though David A had a larger fan base. I think they're both great singers and will go far in whatever they do. I'm sure we'll be hearing each of them on the radio before we know it, which will be fun. American Idol had a great season this year...strong talent and a lot of Christian songs which I loved. I'm already looking forward to next season!

Need a Reminder

Have you ever had something that you really need to remember to do?? If so, don't you think it would be nice to have an e-mail reminding you to do it? HassleYou.com would be great for you if this is something you'd be interested in doing. They are a free online service that would help to nag you to do what you need to get done. Maybe you need to feed the dog, or do something else?! If this is a service you'd find handy...check out their site today and learn more about HassleYou - the free online nagging tool??

Fun, Fun

I am really looking forward to this afternoon. Since it's been raining, and the busy season is winding down at work...Scott is going to try and get off a little bit early. It's been a long time since that has happened..So Kaelyn and I are VERY excited.:) I think we may run up to a nearby city to do some shopping. We do more browsing than shopping...but it's still fun just to get out as a family. Then, tomorrow morning we're planning on getting Kaelyn her 7 month pics. :)

Anti-Wrinkle Creams

I'm still in my 20's, but with every year that passes I see my skin aging more and more as well. I guess that is the inevitable part of getting older, right?!? It's nothing that really concerns me yet, but I'm sure with time wrinkles will come. When I begin to see this happening, I intend to find the very best best anti wrinkle cream. I'm going to research online and talk with others to figure out what would be best to use. In fact, the more I think about it and write about it, the more I think it would be good to start looking now. Why start after wrinkles have appeared?! I want to be proactive and prevent them before they appear.

Supper Tonight

Typically I would be asking myself...what's for supper. It's hard when Scott is working so much lately. It's not fun to try and think of meals to make for just one person. So why don't I have to ask this question?! Well, Scott's mom is coming to visit Kaelyn and I for a while tonight. She is planning on bringing a little something to eat which will be great! It's always nice when grandparents can come over and visit for a while. Kaelyn is a blessed little girl to have everyone so close.

Finally Mowed

Scott finally had the chance to mow the lawn the other day, and am so happy he did. He works in agriculture so this time of year is VERY busy for him. He works some days...17 hours!! The only days he seems to get off lately are those when it's raining out. Obviously when the weather is like that..he cannot mow. So...needless to say...finding time to do is few and far between. The other day he didn't work because the forecast was rain....but it didn't end up raining so he finally got it mowed! I would do it for him on nice days...but with Kaelyn I'm too busy watching her. He understands though...and actually likes mowing on his Uncle's rider lawn mower.:)

Jewelry

I have always been the type of person who really loved jewelry. Over the years, I've learned quite a bit about what quality jewelry is. The one piece I have not learned a whole lot about though are watches. I recently have been looking for watches, as this is something my husband would really like for Father's Day. Looking around, one site really stuck out to me...ViaLuxe.com. They offer a variety of watches, as well as other pieces of luxury jewelry like rings, necklaces, pendants, and more!! Looking around I came across a page on their site which listed all of the brands of jewelry in alphabetical order! I'm sure you've heard of many of them. Hublot, Omega, DeWitt, IWC, blancpain, and Bell and Ross are just to name a few. If you're like me and enjoy jewelry, as well as shopping around for it online...you definitely need to check out this site today! They are known for the wonderful customer service that they offer. They have a great site that is really very user friendly and easy to navigate. They have blogs for your to read, a dealer locater, and news as well. When you get a moment, head over there and see what you think. You won't be disappointed!!

Introducing Squash

Today Kaelyn will be trying Squash for the first time. I always enjoy watching her face as she tries a new food...it's so cute! I think she'll probably like it, as she's really enjoyed the other foods that she's tried so far. Sweet Potatoes, Bananas, and cereal...all of which she eats up very well! We'll see how the squash goes and I'll keep you updated....:) She'll be trying avocados soon too...not sure how she'll like that or not...??!

American Idol....Elimination

Oooohhhh....I am really excited for tonight. Why you ask? Well, tonight is the night that American Idol contestants go from three to two! That's a huge step in the competition because it means that out of those two...one will be the next American Idol! It has to be a really exciting time for all of them. No matter how things go...they all have done a great job and I'm sure face great things in the future. I have a feeling I may know how things will turn out, but we'll see if I'm right.

Vacations

I don't know about you, but i am definitely someone who enjoys going on vacation. No matter where it is, as long as it's warm and I get to spend time with my family...that's all that's important to me. Recently I've been reading a lot about vacation rentals and how popular they are becoming. I think that would be fun to do someday, but have no idea where we'd get one. I was reading about North Padre Island rentals, but I'm sure they have them all over the place. I just think it's fun to think about different places that we'd like to get a rental....there is so many...it would be hard to choose.

Insurance

Jen and I really like the insurance agent that we do business through. We have our homeowners insurance through him, as well as our car insurance. He is someone we have known for a long time, and someone that we trust. Recently he was talking about the importance of having travel insurance. It's something we had never really thought about before, but after hearing more about it we are definitely going to discuss it and look into it further. I'm so thankful to have an agent who works for us, and not just for the company!

Finishing Our Basement

Soon we're going to be doing some work in our basement. Right now it is only partially finished, and not really laid out the way we'd like it to be. So, we're going to be doing some work on the walls and the floors to create a family room, a play room and bedroom...as well as doing some work on the existing bathroom down there as well. The play room will be perfect for Kaelyn once she gets a bit older....it will also be a great place for the exercise equipment we have. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product!

Laptop Computers

Aren't laptop computers the best? Scott and I used to only have a desktop...but seeing how much we both used the computer, it was necessary for us to get a second one. I'm so glad that we went with the laptop computer and not another desktop. It's easy to take from place to place...and seeing that it's wireless..we're able to get the internet pretty much everywhere we go. We actually recently just got a new laptop and really love it!! Our old one would die if it wasn't plugged in, but this one has a large battery and lasts for hours. It's great!

Young Stars Heading to Rehab

I'm sure many people will agree, that it seems to be a popular thing to hear on the news these days that a young star in hollywood is headed to drug rehab. I think it's so sad that they find themselves in a situation where they need to do this, however, I think it's great that there are terrific options out there for them to get better. There are so many treatment centers for them, which is so good, because there is not one program that is right for everyone. Each person has different needs and it's good if they can find a facility that will meet those needs on an individualized basis.

Golf Addicts...

My parents were up this weekend for Kaelyn's dedication, and Scott and my dad were talking about how excited they are to start golfing again. Where we live, the winter lasts a long time, which means this is a perfect time to golf. It's not too hot, but there is no snow on the ground. Scott and Dad both really enjoy golfing. In fact, they enjoy it so much that they actually carry their golf clubs in the trunk wherever they go...just in case the opportunity to golf presents itself.:)

Getting Close...

I am very excited, because after Scott's busy season in the field..we are going to begin working on our basement!!! YEAH!! We've been looking forward to carpeting down there, sheet rocking, and doing some of the half bathroom we already have as well. It will be much accommodating to our needs, as well as the needs of our visitors when they stay. I am SO excited to get started. It is going to look fabulous. I don't know how much work we're going to get done in the bathroom, as we have a lot to do in creating a bedroom, play area, and family room...but we hope to at least add a shower and shower stool to the existing half bath. It should be really nice once we're all finished!

Monex

I've heard a lot about the Monex Companies before, as they have been around for almost 40 years and are known as America's leader when it comes to the investment of precious metals like gold and silver. Even though I've heard a lot about them, I haven't heard a whole lot about Monaco rare coins before. They are a part of this family of companies, and offer a variety of resources for those who are interested in investing and collecting rare coins. They have experienced and knowledgeable people who are willing to help you with your investment needs. Take a look at their site today to learn more about what they can do for you! You won't be sorry you did.

Eating Solid Baby Food

Kaelyn has been eating solid foods for a couple of weeks now and is doing great!! She's really getting the hang of it. She still likes to push the food around in her mouth and play with it some...but she's definitely eating more and more with each passing day. It's fun to see her learning and to see her trying new things. So far she's had cereal and sweet potatoes, and next she'll have bananas. It will be fun to see her try those too. She's such a big girl!! Where has the time gone.

American Idol on Tonight

I'm looking forward to watching American Idol tonight!! We're down to the final four contestants...so it should be a good show. I have an idea of who might win the whole thing, and even who might go home in the next couple of weeks. I have been known to be completely off though....so maybe I'll be surprised. It's just fun to watch either way. And even to have made it this far...each one of those people should feel very proud of themselves! What a great job they've done and will continue to do in the future.

KARISMA

A vacation really sounds good about now. I've been hearing a lot of good things about Karisma hotels, and it makes me want to travel there very soon and stay on the beach of the Mexican Riviera Maya for a family vacation full of relaxation! This resort actually offers a new gourmet inclusive concept...great for people who love food!! That's definitely right up my alley. It is a relaxing place to stay because they offer so many wonderful accommodations like beachside bar swings, beach butlers, swim up rooms, and more! Doesn't that sound great?! If so, and you're thinking this would be a good place for your next vacation, then just head over to their site today to learn more! You're only a click away to the vacation of your dreams.

Leftovers!!

I just love leftovers. My parents brought a couple of leftovers from their week last week, so between those and the leftovers from this weekend...I'm set for a few days! I'm so excited. It's tough when Scott's gone the whole day and night...because I'm watching Kaelyn and don't have much time to make myself lunch or supper. Having leftovers makes it easy to grab something quick and eat. Today I had enchiladas and then some leftovers from the Cracker Barrel...YUM! :)

Cute Movie

My parents got us a copy of the movie Alvin and brought it this past weekend. Each weekend that they are here we've been meaning to watch it but just get too busy. I'm hoping that we can watch it soon, because by the sounds of it, it is quite a cute movie. I remember growing up watching the chipmunks...so I'm looking forward to seeing the movie. I have a feeling it won't be for a couple of weeks...but I can at least look forward to it no matter when it ends up being. :)

Midwest Auto Recycling

Have you ever been in search for a used engine or transmission, but just didn't find the company that made you feel like you could buy from them comfortably? If so, then you haven't come across midwest auto recycling yet. They are a company who specializes in used engines and transmission. They offer a strong warranty, the strongest nationwide in fact. All miles are CARFAX verified as well. Not only that, but the care they take in making sure the engines and transmissions work at their very best proves true with the inspection they do on both. With their engines they compress, test, start, and clean them. With their transmissions they test drive them, inspect and clean them. Learn more on their site today!

YEAH!

I am SOO happy! I just got a call from Scott and he is heading home from work. 10:30 may sound late to some people, but during the busy season that's early for him. I am really happy, because now I will get to see him before it's time to head to bed. It will be nice to catch up on each other's days and just visit for a little while. I'm sure he's very tired though, and needing to get to bed soon...as tomorrow will be here before we know it!!

Good Girl!

It's crazy to think that Kaelyn is over 6 months old already! The days, weeks and months continue to fly by so fast! It's so much fun to watch her change and grow daily though. It seems that every day she is learning something new. Whether it be from jabbering new sounds to getting up on her hands and knees, these are all milestones that we treasure and watch with amazement and joy! I try and capture everything on video and digital camera when possible...but at times she does things so quickly that I don't even have time. She's such a good little girl...and so smart too!

Symark Software

Most people have probably heard of Symark before?! They were founded in 1985, and have been the leading provider of security administration solutions ever since! Symark Software provides UNIX and Linux security solutions. They announced just recently in a web release that their PowerBroker and PowerPassword-User Management Edition access control solutions will support the new HP Integrity servers. All that I read and learned about Symark was really quite interesting and something I wanted to pass along. If you'd like to learn more about them and all that they do and offer concerning password vault, check out their site which is really easy to navigate and use.

So Busy

I'm sure tired by the end of the day. With Scott in his busy season I feel like dropping and going to bed as soon as Kaelyn goes to bed around 8:30 or 9. Although this is what I would like to do most nights, I do not, because this is one of the only times during the day when I can get something done. Whether it's work on the computer, cleaning up the house, or something else...night time is the best time to do that. If I go to bed, then I wake up the next morning and will be busy until dark again. I suppose I should consider getting off of the computer and getting some of that dreaded cleaning done before bed?!

Gas Prices

Aren't the gas prices just outrageous these days?! WOW!! I can't believe how high they've gotten again. I was thinking about it the other day, and remembering when gas was a dollar something. Now it's much higher than that...making it almost impossible to do any traveling without paying a huge price! I don't know about you, but the unfortunate rise in gas prices has actually caused me to think twice before traveling any long distances. That's too bad...but it's tough to pay that much money for gas all the time!

Iamshaman.com

Have you ever heard the word enthoeogen or ethnobotanical? They are two words, related. Entheogen means "becoming divine within", while ethnobotanical is broader and refers to the plants that possess healing properties like Kanna for example. The oldest known entheogen is Amanita Muscaria, while others are Ayahuasca, Hawaiian Baby Woodrose, Morning Glory, and Blue Lotus. You can learn more on the site, iamshaman.com. They do not offer legal highs here as some people might assume, and only sell to adults. Head over to their site today and see what you think. This may be a site that you've been looking for and have yet to come across. They offer a wealth of information and articles about kratom...and it's very user-friendly as well.

Extra Money Blogging

I really enjoy blogging for money. There are many companies out there who offer you the opportunity to make money with your blog, and one that I thoroughly enjoy is Blogitive. I like the fact that they usually have a number of opportunities to choose from, and they're typically very easy to write about. The only bad thing is that you generally are trying to get a lot of opps, while a lot of other people are as well! Oh well, that's how it goes I guess. I'm just happy to be able to make a little extra money here and there sometimes.

Horse Racing Tragedy

I don't watch many sports, especially horse racing...but an unfortunate and very sad story ran across my television screen yesterday that had my stomach in knots. I'm sure many know exactly what I'm talking about. Eight Belles, a great horse died after being euthanized right there on the track due to having broke both of her ankles. I just think it's so sad. I don't know what it is...but I just have such love for animals of all kinds, including horses and this story really bothered me. I don't watch horse racing, and I don't think I"ll be starting to watch it any time soon. I can't stand to watch such a terrible thing happen to anyone, or anything!

Paintball Gear

The sport of paintball is something I never really got into, but I know many people who really enjoy it. If you're one of those people, then ZephyrPaintball.com is the place for you. Good TV Show

Does anyone else watch John and Kate Plus 8? I do most Monday nights, and I really enjoy it. It's fun to watch a couple parent 8 children. They do a very good job at it for the most part, and you can tell that they sure do love their kids. They seem like a genuinely nice family with a lot of love to give! As you watch the show, you feel like you're not only getting to know the parents, but also the kids and all their little personalities. This is a very wholesome and interesting show, and I hope it stays running for a long time.

Sore Neck

Do you ever get neckaches from sitting in front of the computer for too long? I sure do!! When I'm working on the computer, I'm constantly having to take breaks to stretch my neck out, rub it, etc. For some reason it just gets so tense, even when I'm not stressed about anything. It started doing that when I was in college and in front of my computer all day. I think it's partly the way I sit. I should really try and watch my posture as much as possible. A sore neck makes working on the computer absolutely miserable.

Buy Flowers Online

I just love the internet! Almost anything that you could ever want can be done or purchased from the comfort of your very own home. Being a stay at home mom, I find the internet to be a tool I use often to do my shopping. It's quick, convenient and easy!! One thing I came across today, which I thought was pretty neat, is FiftyFlowers.com. They make it easy for people to order all kinds of flowers and arrangements at very affordable prices. Their wholesale flowers come in everything from premium roses, calla lilies, rose petals, gerbera daisies, peonies and more! You will also be able to find bouquets, table arrangements, centerpieces and other great pieces for any occasion. If this sounds like something you've been looking for, check out their site for further information. You won't be sorry you did!

Fun Weekend

Isn't it fun to hang out with family?! It's something both Scott and I really enjoy! This past weekend my parents came up to visit. We went to a big consignment show and found lots of things for the babies in the family. Other than that we just hung out and had a great time enjoying each other's company. I'm glad that we live so close to family...it makes it a lot easier to get together on the weekends, and sometimes even during the week.
